Most corporate partnerships start with good intentions, but too often they stay transactional. What happens when a company decides to go all in?
In this session, we’ll explore the evolution of the Halo Award-finalist partnership between the National Women’s Shelter Network (NWSN) and Mattress Firm, an example of what it looks like when a corporation moves beyond traditional CSR and fully integrates purpose into its operations.
Together, these partners reimagined their approach to impact by consolidating six separate cause initiatives into one flagship relationship focused on advancing the safety, health, and economic stability of women, children, and families experiencing homelessness. The result is a 360-degree philanthropic partnership.
You’ll hear how Mattress Firm embedded its “noble purpose” (creating safe sleeping environments) across the organization: from product donations and disaster relief logistics to point-of-sale giving, employee engagement, marketing activations, and national awareness campaigns. The results speak for themselves: customer giving doubled, employee participation grew, and the partnership generated more than 70 million impressions while expanding the nonprofit’s capacity and reach nationwide.
Attendees will walk away with practical insights on how to:
- Move beyond transactional CSR to build integrated, enterprise-wide impact partnerships
- Consolidate fragmented cause efforts into a single, strategic flagship partnership
- Activate employees and customers in ways that deepen engagement and drive measurable results
- Design partnerships that scale, strengthening nonprofit capacity while delivering real business value
National Women's Shelter Network and Mattress Firm are 2026 Halo Awards Finalists.
