Description

How can brands and nonprofits break into underfunded cause areas and build real momentum together? This session explores how coalition-building, deep listening, and long-term alignment can unlock change beyond what any one organization could achieve alone.

This session uses the Body Appreciation Badge Program as a live case study in what it actually looks like to move from a spark of an idea to a movement reaching millions. Featuring Laura Blackburn of Mammoth Brands, Lauren Carson of Black Girls Smile, and Jenn Angelo of Girl Scouts USA, the conversation will walk through a six-step roadmap that Flamingo, Girl Scouts, and Black Girls Smile used to co-design, pilot, and launch the Body Appreciation badge line.

This is a replicable framework built from two years of coalition-building, deep listening, and the kind of trust that only comes from doing the hard work together. You'll hear what it took to identify a unique lane, build the right partnerships, design with the community rather than for it, and launch with the infrastructure to sustain momentum long after the press release.

And you won't just hear about it. You'll apply it. With your own cause area, your own partners, and your own movement waiting to be built.

Attendees will leave with:

  • A six-step roadmap for moving from cause area interest to coalition-built movement
  • Practical tools for identifying unique lanes within emerging or underfunded issue areas
  • Real insight on what deep, trust-based cross-sector partnership actually looks like in practice
  • A framework for piloting with community, iterating with integrity, and scaling without losing the people closest to the issue Strategies for launching with buzz and sustaining momentum over the long term

Flamingo, Girls Scouts of America, and Black Girls Smile are a 2026 Halo Awards Finalist.
