Speaker Bio
Jorge Alvarez is a mental health advocate, social impact strategist, and Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships & Engagement at Active Minds, where he plays a strategic leadership role in advancing Active Minds' $10MM annual fundraising goal and funder-focused thought-leadership strategies. Since joining the Active Minds team in 2023, he has contributed to securing over $6M in funding from corporate partners, including Google, KPMG, and Harry's, to advance Active Minds mental health programming nationwide.
Drawing on his studies in public health and his lived experiences as a Latino and first-generation college graduate, Jorge advocates for and builds the infrastructure for youth to co-create and lead as the architects of the solutions they need — with the ultimate goal of ensuring mental health is seen and treated as a civic priority. He spoke at the MTV Entertainment Studios and The Biden-Harris White House Youth Mental Health Action Forum, alongside 30 youth leaders, First Lady Jill Biden, former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Selena Gomez.
Jorge was also recognized as a Young Innovator in Behavioral Health (now the Young Futures Award) by Behavioral Health Tech, and his contributions to the field have been featured in The New York Times, NBC News, The Nation, and more.
